In 1932, we began a tradition that continues to this day. It’s a tradition of building one piece at a time, by master craftspeople who know what they’re doing and love what they do, in our own workshops.

Only Ethan Allen gives you so many ways to personalize your style. Each piece of custom upholstery is made to order and hand-tailored in your choice of fashionable fabrics or luxurious leathers. You can also add decorative trim, such as tape or nailheads, to transform your seating into something that’s truly one of a kind.

Bearing excellent details and flawless finishes, every piece of wood furniture is built to last and meticulously handcrafted by artisans using time-honored techniques. Most of the styles are assembled and finished in our own workshops in Vermont and North Carolina and can be customized in your choice of finishes. Some even have optional hardware and accent details like gilding available.
